ancient metallurgic experiments
Wednesday, September 13th ? Tuesday, September 19th 2006
In the 2nd week of September 2006, Historisch OpenluchtMuseum Eindhoven (the Netherlands) will organise a Symposium around ancient metallurgic experiments. This will include the 3rd international Iron Smelting Symposium. The 2006 Symposium is based on the experience with ?IJzersterk?, an international iron smelting symposium in Eindhoven, 1995, and is a follow up of the successful 1st and 2nd Iron Smelting Symposia of Greven, Germany (2003) and Polle, Germany (2004).
We invite specialists, in word and action, like metallurgists, blacksmiths, bronze casters, archaeologists, historians and above all iron smelters, bronze casters and the such.
The museum offers its terrain, its raw materials (excl. the metals), catering and its overnight facilities to all in Europe and beyond who want to show their abilities and learn from one another, being among like minded specialists.
If you want to receive further information, check our webpage at: www.historisch-openluchtmuseum-eindhoven.nl/symposium or subscribe to our Symposium e-mail list through: symposium@historisch-openluchtmuseum-eindhoven.nl.
Looking forward to meeting you,
J. Schuitert & R. Paardekooper
